Moreover; to convert the DC power to AC, like
on the Superyacht
Canova, that has 6 battery banks of
Lithium ion batteries for a total of 6,000 kg, to give only
500 kWh, that power has to go to
an inverter to produce normal electric power, which loses another 38- to 39% of the power
to convert regular electric power (you get robbed
at the door), unless you run only DC motors and LCD lights that can be added to the
boat; but; that means you
can never retrofit to existing engines,
equipment and propulsion systems with direct
current. You are limited to do only
new-builds with custom propulsion systems; unlike the RED SUN/PowerSource pure thermal heat retrofits,
where carbon fiber EGG’s SWNT HEATEX PIPES deliver the RED SUN power in milliseconds to the combustion
chamber or both turbine and rail system of diesel (at 3001C higher temperature than fuel at 9501C- to give 30% more efficiency and power out of
existing propulsion and electrical generator RED SUN retrofit systems); and; with N2 additions, can give 3 x’s the
torque with Nitrogen compression 3 x’s that of Gas, plus red sunCheat at 100C gives 20 MJ/kg
vs only 11.1 MJ/kg for gasoline and 30 MJ for Bunker C for large ships
and trains up to 27,000 HP.
Although methane and hydrogen both have
higher energy content than gasoline,
their gaseous form creates storage
difficulties. Furthermore, hydrogen must be synthesized, which requires energy. As a comparison, with a conversion rate of 100%, it would
require 100 hours to capture the solar energy equivalent of 1 kg of gasoline
on a surface of one square
meter. One of the most efficient
energy storage devices, the lithium
battery, can only hold about the
equivalent of 0.5 MJ per kilogram, underlining the challenge of
developing electric vehicles. RED SUN and POWERSOURCE solve
