Thus, making it hard, if not impossible, for the Philippines and SE Asia to compete in their main food and mariculture markets which make-up a very significant percentage of their GDP. The only solution is to break free of our current expensive fossil fuel and grid curtailed and curtailing wind and solar and build low cost distributed power. The Molten Salt Reactor ( MSR) is the best currently available technology enabling low-cost 3 cent/ kWh baseload reliable and dispatchable power without emissions and half the price of coal which is 7 cents per kWh and $2500/ kW to install. The cost to build MSRs is $1,000 to $2,000 through RedStar engineering and thermal battery systems that raise the operating temp fromn700°C to over 1400°C to run high efficiency Brayton Cycle turbines at 63% efficiency at lower installation costs than most prescribed systems other than low- efficiency steam cycle. The Red Sun thermal battery breakthrough mobile MW class batteries further enable retrofitting cities and power plants to create distributed power networks without wires in grid-scale mobile thermal batteries charged by MSRs, RedStar's proprietary H2 systems, WTE, EGG Algae to H2, intermittant renewables and hydro and geothermal at night to deliver in solid blocks of 360 MWh of baseload in the day; and; deliver power and heat directly to cities and clients without building more expensive ($350k to 760k USD/mi) high power lines; delivering onsite by truck, train or ship without wires in day in 32 MW giving 360 MWh per charge in 20 foot containers at a cost of $5/ kWh vs Lithium ion or solid state at $405 per kWh! Moreover Red Sun thermal batteries last 40 years vs 6 to 7 years for lithium ion. Plus, Red Sun comes with a 10 year warranty from Thyssenkrupp! |
